His talent is such that he has the ability to create an image on canvas of aircraft in flight; or a landscape which leaves the viewer with a feeling that they could fall into the picture. Although highly regarded for his skill of replicating aircraft on canvas, Gerald also used his knowledge of flying to great affect on his landscapes. His aircraft paintings alone enjoy breathtaking backdrops of detail and mood, but he brings his unique understanding of light to the landscape pieces which he has become equally famed for.
