‘The Colour of Love’ can be whatever colour your heart desires, of course, with colouration (like beauty) being in the eye of the beholder. Yet traditionally it’s the various hues and saturations related to the base colour, red which is most closely associated with affairs of the heart. And indeed, affairs of the art, as we bear witness to hereabouts in Paul Horton’s brand new early 2018 illustrative overture. Embracing the critically acclaimed contemporary landscape artist’s ongoing love affair with isolated homes located atop hillsides, the red in question in this episode comes in the form of the roses discovered in the foreground of his very latest giclee mounted limited edition pictorial reveal. Which serve as the only wash of colour, in an otherwise monochrome palette of illustrative expression; the like of which we’re not often privy to in Horton’s back catalogue. If this delightful hand-signed 9” x 9” iteration has piqued your interest, be sure to follow it up with a call at your leisure, to find out more.
