Taking The Waters by Sarah Jane Szikora

Bathing ladies soaking their everyday cares away and basking like whales. Not that we’re implying that the female subject matter pictured by the much-respected and best-selling contemporary figurative artist, Sarah Jane Szikora are on the large side. Although maybe we are? It is, after all, a question of perspective more than an abject lesson in sizeology.

‘Taking the Waters’ sees Szikora’s either A) inflated bodies or B) minimised heads relaxing in informal surrounds, at a spa resort maybe, or perhaps even the local lido; who knows. Like perspective, that too is open to interpretation/artistic licensing. What is for sure though are the undeniable facts that this brand new Summer 2014 release by Szikora is presented as a hand-signed giclee mounted piece and is strictly limited to a miniscule 10 copies max. That’s ten, as in ten, in case you’re wondering.
