Carnaby Street was where it was all said to be happening during the swinging sixties, yet it’s another (arguably more famous) London postcode which steals the compositionally fashionable show here, in Samantha Ellis’ very latest Spring 2016 pictorial reveal. Entitled ‘Mini Adventure’, it’s the titular car of the day which causes the biggest stir in this scene-stealing giclee on canvas limited edition study, yet the background has been rightly hijacked by another iconic landmark synonymous with the biggest of smokes, namely Westminster. Or to be more geographically precise, Parliament.

Up-and-coming contemporary landscape artists extraordinaire, Ellis doesn’t need to offer would-be viewers/potential purchasers a handy London A – Z street map to help them identify just where they are in this very visual instance, as it’s clear for all to see in the 20” x 25” board only iteration. The much-talked about cityscape practitioner, Ellis has also lent her signature to all 195 versions of her debut collection (from our perspective), which again will only heighten interest in this already hotly anticipated new release. So we suggest interested parties register their intent ASAP to side-step the very real threat of missing out.
