On leaving art college in London, the since globally acclaimed contemporary fine artist, Mackenzie Thorpe taught art for a while, so as to support his young family, prior to moving to Richmond in North Yorkshire some time later to establish creative roots once and for all. It was here that he and his wife opened an art materials shop, along with creating suitable studio space thereabouts to accommodate Thorpe’s illustrative ambitions going forward. Some years later – and having had both a British manager and American publisher fighting his corner – Thorpe’s pictorial work is instantly recognized the world over, while many of his most popular images have also wound up appearing on calendars and greetings cards. Autumn 2016 sees the hugely exciting Thorpe standing on the precipice of the unveiling of his very latest portfolio, from which ‘Dancing in Love’ is taken.
