Sought-after fine artist, Keith Proctor’s latest edition is pretty much as you’d expect it to be. Flooded with genuine warmth, a sense of longing and belonging, a cosy familiarity and a visual exercise in balance and composition. The focus of his attentions this time is a young girl, painting away to her heart’s content, in her own little place, detached from reality and concentrating on saying what she sees set out before her, via the medium of felt tip. It could well be the girl’s first forays into art, or she could already have mastered the rudiments, that thought is left very much to the mind of those that observe the figurative artist’s sublimely detailed study. Proctor himself, when drawn on his originating of the piece, adds; "I tried to capture the light in this piece. I paint quickly with bold strokes; therefore it was quite a challenge due to the detail in the little girl’s face, hat and hands. But I am pleased with the outcome."
