| Long Bio: |
Libby Lord embarked upon a teacher training course at Wolverhampton University, however after a car accident, Libby felt the need to re-evaluate her life goals and embarked upon on her artistic career. From a family of painters, Libby's early pieces of artwork were semi-abstract, pastel garden and seascape scenes. Fascinated by colour and texture, Libby relishes in the freedom of collage, using paper, paint, wire and metal to bring many dimensions to each image. Inspiration is found in many quarters but Libby Lord finds herself greatly influenced by literature and includes quotations in some of her work. With themes such as fairy stories, the weather and poetry her art work is always intriguing and full of fun, charm and sentiment. Initially Libby Lord painted for family and friends but as word spread she began holding small local exhibitions. Working on special commissions, travelling the country exhibiting at art and craft fairs and her obvious enjoyment in producing each image encouraged Libby to embark upon a career as a full time, freelance artist. Tremendous interest is now being shown in her work by leading book publishing companies and her ever increasing number loyal collectors and appreciators. more artists at collect-art.com Libby Lord's Collection |
