Joy Kirton Smith

Long Bio:

Joy Kirton-Smith inspiration stems from her interest in capturing the aesthetic qualities of the human form. To this end, her current images combine a contrast between form and flux, tangible entitles engulfed in a constantly changing environment. We are, therefore, presented with images that hint an eroticism and earthliness, whilst offering the reminder that all formations of being are transient.

Joy Kirton-Smith compositions of form and figures camouflaged into, and leaping off, a toned stage have been critically acclaimed. Her imagery, combined with beautiful and individual framing, create highly decorative works of art.

Her technique involves the blending of her focal characters into merged backgrounds, abstracting the often dancing figures onto their stage. In recent years her work has become incredibly popular and a delight for the individual and experienced framer.

Washington Green have published her highly individual work for several years, in which time her truly artistic and decorative compositions have become incredibly popular.
