The Avengers #146
One of Marvel Comics’ most revered employees, Stan Lee came up with the concept of a band of superhero brothers (and occasionally, sisters) to go head to head with arch rival, DC Comics’ ‘Justice League of America’ concept. Comprising the superhero likes of Thor, Ant Man, Iron Man, Wasp, Hulk and Captain America these guys were pitched in together to combat evil and to ultimately win back some of the ground lost to their great comic book rival’s strides in this previously untapped field.
The Avengers; Earth’s Mightiest Heroes is presented as Giclee on boxed canvas and in terms of illustrative qualities is resplendent in bright hues and saturations for the most part, to contrast the solid black background. 1960s fonts are well supported, complete with the expected and much loved OTT straplines to add an overall Marvel Comics’ superhero flavour to events, and is signature Stan Lee is every respect. Available now as one of just 195, 28x40” studies, which would prove an instant hit with any comic book art lover or general fanboy.
